Training Update

  • 10-Mar-10 23:19 | anonymous

Race volunteers: Everyone, regardless of where they will be working, Skibowl East or West, should check in at the big tent in the Multorpor parking lot.  Check-in is from 6:30 to 8:30. Please review these two volunteer lists BWC Volunteer Assignments - On Hill and BWC Volunteer Assignments - Off Hill to confirm what your volunteer jobs are this weekend. These spreadsheets will be updated as changes are made and are also available on the web site. To all of you parents who are helping with Buddys, thank you very much!  All the pieces are coming together and we expect a great event.  And to the coaches who are making this work for all our families, another big thank you!!

MHA Juniors: No official training this weekend, some of you may get to forerun

J5 J6 Racers: The Buddy Werner Championship is almost here, and we are all very busy, yet very excited for this weekend’s event.  Many of our parents and coaches will be working hard to host all of the Pacific Northwest at Skibowl.  And Skibowl has some new snow!

The 800 visitors to our mountain will create some challenges for our young racing families.  So here is the plan for this weekend’s training.

Have your racer meet the coaches down at the flat area by the base of the Green Chair, away from the busy Multorpor Lodge.  Look for Shelley, Steve, Ed and Lauren at 9:00am.

If you are helping at the races, make sure the coaches know where to find your racer’s lunch in the lodge, or if you racer has lunch money in a pocket.  The coaches will stay with the kids during lunch if you are not able to return to the lodge.

After skiing Shelley will remain with the racers in the lodge.  The BWC crowd should be clearing out by 2:30pm so everyone should have an easier time meeting up after the races.

The coaches plan to ski with the kids around the mountain and watch some of the exciting racing.  With the new snow, skiing should be a lot of fun!

Be sure to check with Shelley regarding Sunday’s practice, in case she needs to change a bit of the schedule.
